An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Operations Team Leader to join the Operations Function, as Training and Development SME, in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Greater Manufacturing Function environment. Job Title : Manufacturing Operations Team Leader – Training and Development Salary: Circa £45,000 dependent on experience Location: Bolto Dynamic (hybrid) working : 4 days a week on site / 1 day a week remotely, due to workload classification Security Clearance : British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team. The opportunity: This opportunity is for a Manufacturing Operations Team Leader to join the Operations Function, as Training and Development SME, to help shape and deliver the training and development needs of the Function. You will be responsible for assisting the Manufacturing Operations Manager in: Support the Operations Function with training and development improvement initiatives. Development of standardised training plans and skills matrices, in collaboration with the Training Department, for manual employees and Operations management (Working Cell Leaders, Team Leaders and Operations Managers). Ensure collaboration with the Training Department and L&D team to develop new training delivery methods (e.g, utilisation of Youlearn) Ensuring external benchmarking and a parity of approach Standardise and conduct skills assessments of the Operations community, identifying any potential skills deficiencies. Liaise with key stakeholders (e.g Business Units, Training & Development Manufacturing Operations Team Leader, etc.) where required to ensure they are aware of any relevant changes to existing training. Provide training and development support to deployed Manufacturing Operations Team Leaders and Working Cell Leaders as appropriate / required. Maintain close links to areas such as NPI, digital systems and the technology road map to ensure that training remains topical to the changing business environment Manage, on behalf of the Manufacturing Operations Manager, the Experienced Apprenticeship and Further Education schemes for manual employees. Provide support to deployed Manufacturing Operations Team Leaders and Working Cell Leaders in their relationship with the TU. Support the implementation of agreed actions, on behalf of the Manufacturing Operations Manager, for support and improvement activities where functional support to process and tools is required (e.g. Operational Excellence). You will be supporting the Manufacturing Operations Manager in ensuring the Operations community is at the forefront of industry standards, in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive Greater Manufacturing Function environment. The team has a great mix of people, all striving to deliver functional excellence. What we’re looking for from you: Considerable relevant experience and knowledge of operations management and the associated Manufacturing processes and tools An ability to effectively communicate to (both verbally and in writing), influence and negotiate with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. Business Units, Training Department, etc.) An ability to form strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate with those in similar roles within the Greater Manufacturing Function to ensure a parity of approach Robust planning and organisational skills; the ability to ensure multiple tasks are prioritised and monitored to ensure delivery of objectives. Enthusiastic and passionate about delivering the role; the ability to engage a variety of audiences and levels of understanding to ensure that training is effective, understood by the recipient(s), and a positive experience for all parties. Approachable and seen as a go to person when training and development needs or shortfalls are identified and instrumental in a swift resolution.
