Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism and Speech, Language & Communication and Special Educational Needs?
Academics Southampton are working with and supporting a specialist school based in Southampton. They are looking for dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to support children aged 4-11 with Autism, learning difficulties, and other associated needs.
As a Special Needs LSA at this school, you will gain essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting. If you have experience as a Special Needs LSA or come from a care background, please apply!
Due to increased demand from January, they seek someone available Monday to Friday from 08:30 am to 3:45 pm. The role involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis.
Job Role and Responsibilities of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
* Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
* Behaviour and pastoral support
* Build effective relationships with students
* Meet individual needs of students practically
* Maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
* Work 1:1 and in small groups with students
* Ensure safeguarding of students
Requirements include having a GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths, and a DBS on the update service or willingness to submit one through us.
Details:
* Monday to Friday
* £83.34 per day, depending on expectations
* Must have the right to work in the UK and be based in Southampton
