What you'll do
Work directly in a pivotal R&D initiative that requires support on Benefits Definition, Management, Ownership and Realisation.
Enable the initiative to discover opportunities for an increased benefits profile, work with partners to define benefits and get sponsorship and agreement from business units to be responsible for the realisation of those benefits. Liaise with the Initiative Business Architect to include verified benefits into the centralised program benefits model and participate in regular reviews as required as a result of program change.
Accountabilities
1. Gather quantitative (effort efficiency, duration reduction) and qualitative benefits from initiative workstreams as required.
2. Collaborate on the elicitation of those benefits with key partners within and outside of the initiative.
3. Challenge effectively and constructively to ensure the benefits are carefully considered before being 'banked'.
4. Provide clear guidance to those partners on Project Managers, Workstream Leads and Subject Matter Experts on what benefits to capture and how.
5. Communicate those benefits clearly and succinctly, focussing on benefits that will provide the greatest return / chance of successful realisation.
6. Collaborate with business partners to gain ownership of those benefits to enable ongoing benefits realisation when the initiative ends.
7. Perform complex modelling to understand when the benefits will occur as a result of workstream delivery and business adoption plans.
8. Work with the ORD COO PMO Business Architect to assimilate new, or updated, benefits into centralised program benefits profile.
9. Update, or re-map, existing benefits profiles, considering ongoing program change.
10. Participate in quarterly formal updates to senior leadership on benefits profile changes.
Expected Outcomes
Benefits management is an ongoing process in the critical initiative, benefits are clear and realistic and known changes are proactively analysed to maintain the integrity of the initiative. Business representatives own and realise the benefits.
Essential Criteria
1. Expertise in Benefits definition, management, ownership and realisation.
2. Aptitude for complex data modelling and strong mathematical skills.
3. Attention to detail is critical.
4. Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills. Ability to translate complex problems into simple, understandable solutions.
5. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to run multiple complex work items in parallel.
6. Strong relationship builder who can collaborate with, and influence, partners at multiple levels of an organisation, and who is not afraid to challenge effectively.
7. Consistent record of experience in this field.
