Job Purpose:
To plan, co-ordinate, manage and oversee the design stages of new and existing projects from initial inception through to final handover. Projects will be of multiple disciplines including M&E, fabric and specialist elements.
Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Deliverables:
1. Ensuring accurate collation and compilation of design documentation.
2. Ensuring client design objectives are met.
3. Representing the client's & EMCOR's interests.
4. Providing technical solutions and guidance on project deliverables to Project Managers & Site Managers when required.
5. Produce/assist in the development of accurate & comprehensive design drawing packages from initial design through to As Fitted drawings.
6. Develop best practice and cost-effective solutions to our clients.
7. On “live” projects undertake with the operational team Onsite Reviews to ensure quality standards and adherence to design are being met.
8. Using IT systems to keep track of progress.
9. Support the continued growth of EMCOR UK’s incumbent design team through collaboration and innovative solutions.
Resource Responsibilities:
1. Assist the commercial team to compile accurate and comprehensive cost submissions.
2. Organising and working with professionals/contractors in the development of new designs and or changes to existing projects.
3. To take complete ownership of pre-construction activities. Such activities include for the detailed Compilation of schedule of requirement documentation (SOR’s) that have a direct link to the commercial team in the production of costs to our client.
4. To take a leading role on the review and select subcontractor cost submissions for cost and technical merit ensuring that this offers deliverable and cost-efficient solutions to our client.
5. Supporting the Senior Technical & Design Manager in the development and “setting and raising of standards” for the account to ensure all documentation is comprehensive and uniform at national level.
6. Outsourcing design activities to specialists, consultants and sub-contractors.

1. Organisational skills
2. Experience in CDM Projects in construction and building services
3. Experience in a management capacity in a multi-skilled work environment.
4. Analytical skills
5. Mechanical biased with formal qualifications to C&G or HNC/HND standards.
6. In depth knowledge and understanding of cooling systems market wide and not singular manufacturer specific.
7. Knowledge of critical environments and mission critical systems.
8. Formally trained to C&G standards in the use of AutoCAD and drawing package software.
