Due to the growth of the business area, Leonardo have an opportunity for an Electronics Solution Lead to join our Communications and Force Protection Team.
Project work at Leonardo is based on both internally funded products and directly funded work with deliverables to key customers within short timescales. If successful, you will be joining a dedicated multi-disciplined Integrated Project Team with a full and stretching workload - with huge potential for personal growth and professional development.
The salary range for this role is £63,000 - £68,000 per year.
What you will do
Supporting our Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) programmes, you will support new designs undertaking the following activities.
1. Development of subsystem engineering solutions and specifications
2. Operating at a product system level, specify and define electronic COTS items such as Open VPX chassis, General Purpose Graphics Processing Units, High-Speed Network Interface Controllers and RF devices
3. System Integration
You will be part of a team supporting our ECM system development. Starting at the beginning of the engineering lifecycle the Principal Electronics Engineer will develop subsystem solutions and specifications and work as part of the system integration team to realise those solutions.

In this broad electronic engineering role, you will work across a range of projects throughout various stages of the product lifecycle from initial concept development through to early life production support and on to support of existing fielded designs.
What you really must have:
1. Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle
2. Experience of :-
1. Operating at the product system level
2. Specifying and defining COTS items
3. Working with subcontract suppliers
4. Specifying Open VPX backplane solutions (or similar standards)
5. System level integration
It would be nice if you had:
1. Safety, Security and other legislative constraints
2. Domain experience in Electronics Warfare and Electronics Countermeasures
You must be capable of achieving full SC security clearance and will require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only.
