Background of department/role:
We are looking for 2 Housekeeping Assistants within our busy Housekeeping Team, part of the Estates and Facilities Department at Canterbury Christ Church University.
We seek enthusiastic, friendly, hard-working, and efficient individuals to work across the Canterbury campus in residential and/or non-residential buildings. Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for these roles. You will deliver high standards of customer care, offering an excellent housekeeping service and ensuring that buildings are kept clean and tidy.
When entering a room or location to clean, all staff will first carry out a survey of the room, noting any damage or maintenance required to be repaired by Estates, and report carpets/furniture/windows that need cleaning to their supervisor.
As a member of the Facilities team, there is a collective responsibility to ensure that all rooms are presented in the best possible manner. Experience of working in a cleaning environment and basic IT knowledge would be advantageous.
How will you work?
2 Part Time Posts (20 hours per week) primarily covering weekend shifts (Saturdays/Sundays). We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working shift patterns wherever possible, but there may be occasions when cover is required outside your normal working patterns such as weekends or bank holidays. Uniform will be provided.
