As a credible member of the Quality Policy and Compliance team, you will:
* Provide a trusted, high quality service to customers, regulators and other external stakeholders, supporting the organisations vision to 'earn the trust of our customers every day'.
* Ensure that sampling and analysis are carried out independently to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and that the company's statutory and regulatory responsibilities with regard to drinking water and wastewater are met and the regulatory risk to the business is managed effectively.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Show knowledge and competency in taking both regulatory and non-regulatory samples.
2. Deal with customers and members of the public in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
3. Deliver the sampling and monitoring programmes.
4. Provide support in investigations to ensure compliance with regulations and protection of DCWW's assets.
5. Understand the relevance of the "Performance Scorecard" to DCWW's Business Plan and be aware of the reputational and regulatory implications of sample failures.
6. Provide specialist sampling response in the event of a terrorist attack
7. Support the business in attaining and maintaining ISO 17025 DWTS accreditation for potable sampling and ISO 17025 for OSM sampling.
8. Identify and escalate issues found at DCWW sites.
9. Work closely with Sampling Co-ordinators to ensure that all samples are taken within appropriate timescales
10. Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of equipment used in sampling, in accordance with ISO17025 and regulatory requirements.
11. Collect samples in accordance with procedures.
12. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with ISO17025.
13. Ensure that all field test equipment is maintained and calibrated in compliance with ISO17025.
14. Responsible for checking vehicles, organising servicing, and ensuring they are road-worthy at all times.

GCSE C Grade in English, Mathematics and Science (equivalent relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to formal qualifications)
* Understand the importance of being a member of a high performing team.
* Have experience of sampling or drinking water treatment processes and legislation.
* Able to take responsibility for own actions whilst working in the field following procedures and guidelines.
* Be IT literate with knowledge of systems such as WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and LIMS.
* Good interpersonal skills
* Ability to work to deadlines without compromising quality
* Adaptable to changing priorities
* Good attention to detail.
Good to know
* This is a field based role which will also require participation on a standby rota to cover evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
* Full UK Drivers License is required - ability to travel as job requires
