About the team/rewards
You will be managing a multifunctional close-knit team made up of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineers. Your job will be to deliver the design solution by delegating day-to-day tasks for the team and ensuring they are working effectively. This team of around half a dozen are hardworking, sociable, and welcoming with a strong work ethic.
Our Opportunity
You will be responsible for leading and coordinating high-performance multi-discipline engineering teams through the full engineering design lifecycle. You will plan and prioritize engineering activities and resources to complete projects while meeting quality, schedule, and budgetary requirements.
You will also develop the capability of engineers by coaching and sharing your knowledge in a continuous professional development environment, managing risks, and identifying opportunities during the project lifecycle.
You will help create an environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring that project deliverables meet customer requirements and contract specifications. Lastly, you will communicate effectively, professionally, and timely with internal personnel, external customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
About You
You will have experience in system design and development of complex hardware and software systems, along with proven experience working collaboratively across multiple product development and specialist domain teams.
You will have working knowledge of Safety (SIL) and a track record of working and delivering solutions for a defense program, with significant experience interfacing with internal and external customers, and understanding system requirements in the defense domain.
You will be highly customer-focused with excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment with multiple parallel objectives.
You will also have experience working with technical requirements, statements of work, integration, verification and validation, and acceptance criteria. Additionally, experience in writing technical documentation (plans, specifications, statements of work, reports) and managing/contributing to bids is required.
