An exciting opportunity has arisen for 1st level registered nurses (up to 37.5 hours per week) to join our highly motivated Multidisciplinary team within neurological rehabilitation.
Job Summary
The neurological rehabilitation unit is a 12 bedded unit providing care and rehabilitation for both male and female patients with neurological conditions including acquired/ traumatic brain injury.
The job will be varied, challenging, and rewarding. We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspired person with a positive outlook, who possesses good communication skills and a willingness to develop within the role.
The successful candidates will work within the highly skilled Multidisciplinary team where the patient is central to everything we do. They will take an active part in the delivery of care and rehabilitation programmes, ensuring that excellent standards are maintained.

Main duties of the job
* Support the ward sister/manager in the provision and maintenance of high-quality personalised nursing care by providing assessment and formulating care plans in partnership with the patient and their relatives/carers.
* Maintain high clinical standards whilst carrying out nursing procedures, including the safe custody and administration of medication using an electronic system.
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a good understanding of IT, as you will be using electronic systems to record patient information.
* Be responsible for your own continued development and take an active part in the development of other unit staff by acting as a role model and motivator, ensuring compliance with the clinical governance framework.

Job Responsibilities
* To provide clinical nursing to the highest standard within the ward maintaining a clean safe environment.
* To provide and maintain a high quality of individualised patient care by effectively using all available resources.
* To assess, implement, monitor, and evaluate the care and treatment of all inpatients in partnership with the patient and their relatives/carers.
* To establish good working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Designated to take charge regularly of the ward, which provides rehabilitation, respite, and continuing care in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
* To supervise and delegate care according to other team members (and your own) skills and competences in the absence of the sister/charge nurse.
* Identify potential problems and report them to sister/manager.
* Participate in the teaching, education, and training of all ward-based staff including student nurses, post-registration students, NVQ students, patients, and relatives/carers.
* Required on an ad hoc basis to be senior nurse bleep holder. (For cardiac arrest and absence reporting).
