The successful Future Teachers will work in a secondary school in East Sussex as a Cover Supervisor. You will be required to cover lessons during the short-term absence of the teacher who will have set suitable work for the duration. The role of the successful cover supervisor is to supervise the class whilst they complete tasks set by the teacher. This requires no active teaching, marking or planning but will ensure that a high-quality learning experience is delivered to all students giving you a real insight into working as a Teacher.
This would be looking to start in January 2025

Whilst in placement you will;
* Keep a journal of your day-to-day experience
* Observe lessons in your subject specialism and other subjects to develop a broad knowledge of teaching styles/methods
* Discover how different members of staff provide effective differentiation, manage behaviour and conduct non subject activities such as registration and assemblies
* Work with all staff to support the pastoral systems in place to aid pupil development
* Learn the school policies and discover how and why they developed
* Learn the syllabus in your subject area and identify the areas of your degree which can be applied and present this to the school
* Support pupils through coursework and examination preparation
