Main purpose of the role:
This entry level HSE Adviser role will support all aspects of health, safety and environment to ensure that Argent sites remain compliant with all relevant HSE laws.
It will suit individuals who are passionate about creating safe and sustainable workplaces or looking to kickstart a career in HSE. This role offers hands-on experience, training, and a clear path to growth!
What you will be doing:
* Assisting with the preparation, review, and submission of environmental permits required for site operations.
* Supporting monitoring and reporting activities to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements (e.g., emissions, waste management, water treatment, etc.).
* Carrying out routine audits and inspections to identify hazards and unsafe conditions and developing risk control measures.
* Preparing reports on HSE performance e.g. incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices.
* Supporting campaigns or initiatives to raise awareness of health and safety issues.
* Assisting with incident investigations, including gathering data and preparing reports.

* Contractors – to ensure compliance with HSE policies
* External agencies and authorities on audits, inspections and compliance matters
Skills you will need to be successful:
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
* Working towards or willing to work towards a recognised HSE related qualification eg NEBOSH general certificate or NEBOSH environmental certificate or similar (Desirable).
* Willingness to pursue HSE certifications and stay updated on new regulations and best practices
* Ability to clearly explain safety policies and procedures to various stakeholders.
* Effective written communication for preparing reports and documentation.
* Effective managing multiple priorities and deadlines
* Strong attention to detail for accurate reporting
Qualifications required for the role:
* Good standard of secondary education with good GCSE passes in English, Maths and STEM subjects.
* Previous experience is not required but candidates need to have an interest in safety and the environment, and the desire to learn and develop in the role.
