As the Deputy Head of PTS Operations, you will work closely with the Head of Operation- PTS and other senior stakeholders to lead on clinical, quality, and governance initiatives within the service. To support our ambitious goals, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Head of Patient Transport Services to oversee regulatory compliance, governance, and quality within our PTS team.
Deputy Head of PTS - Clinical
Provide clinical leadership, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care within the PTS.
Develop and implement governance frameworks and quality assurance processes to maintain compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements.
Lead on incident investigations, root cause analysis, and action planning to promote a culture of learning and improvement.
Oversee staff training, education, and clinical competency assessments to ensure all team members operate at the required professional standard.
Monitor and analyse performance data, identifying trends and areas for service improvement.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external partners, and stakeholders to deliver patient-focused services.
Deputise for the Head of PTS as required, providing operational and strategic leadership.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic leader with proven experience in quality and governance. A clinical background is desirable but not essential. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate compassionate leadership, a passion for patient care, and a commitment to driving improvement.
