The Role
We are looking for a suitably qualified dental technician lecturer to deliver teaching, assessment and support for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the School in the area of dental technology. You will be expected to contribute to curriculum development, and the wider academic, scholarly, administrative and professional requirements of the School. You will have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and have a strong commitment to develop your teaching skills.

Key Accountabilities
* Contribute to the delivery of an exceptional educational experience to undergraduate and postgraduate students of the school specifically but not exclusively in the area of dental technology.
* Take an active and significant role in academic teaching including the development and delivery of lectures, seminars, practicals and a range of assessments. Teaching duties will be related to the dental technician scope of practice, dependant on the needs of the programmes and skill set of the successful applicant.
* Make a contribution to the pastoral support of students and to the admissions process for undergraduate courses in the school.
* Fully engage with quality asssurance and enhancement processes within the School and carry out administrative tasks and other duties to support the educational programme.
* Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the post and in line with School’s business needs, such as development of new educational programmes and/or CPD.
* Identify and undertake a programme of professional development.
The Person (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* In-depth knowledge of the field of dental technician/dental technology ideally with experience of digital workflows
* Demonstrable skills and experience in the scope of practice of dental technician
* Experience of teaching ideally in the field of dentistry
* Broad understanding of the educational programmes within the School

Qualifications
* Relevant qualification in the area of dental technician (e.g. Diploma/Foundation degree or equivalent) with significant post qualification experience
* Current and full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council as a Dental technician
* Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma or Masters in Clinical Education or Fellowship with the HEA or the expectation of completing a teaching qualification during the first year of the post (Desirable)
