Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Systems Engineer to join our South East service team. The position is permanent, full time, working 40 hrs per week with additional call out / standby responsibilities and typically working to support one major customer in the WC2A postcode of London. The role will involve working with world-class enterprise electronic security systems and would suit experienced security systems engineers who also have a good grounding in IT systems (Networks and Servers) with a strong desire to step up and learn.
About the Role
1. Attend to reactive fault calls as directed by the team co-ordinators and / or Manager, with rectification of fault on first visit being a critical KPI.
2. Carry out rolling programme of preventative maintenance as scheduled by the team co-ordinators and / or Manager.
3. Carry out additional installation and commissioning works as directed by team co-ordinators and / or Manager.
4. Assist Tech Support Engineers in carrying out IT updates to systems on site.
5. Assist the Design Team in conducting surveys around the site for additional Works.
6. Accurate collection and recording of site hardware and software configuration Information.
7. Maintain accurate and timely records, covering both reactive and PPM reports for all work carried out during your day to day activities.
8. Working to the site H&S guidelines and following agreed RAMS. In conjunction with the Manager and Health & Safety Manager, assist in the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other documentation as required to gain Permits to Work in a timely manner.
9. You will be required to provide cover on an out of hour’s basis, covering the wider London area as part of an on call rota.
What we are looking for
1. Experience installing and / or servicing a wide product base within the electronic security industry – typically Access Control, CCTV and Intruder alarm systems.
2. Broad IT knowledge, eg. software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP based systems and networking principles.
3. Knowledge of basic electrical principals such as measuring voltage, resistance and current.
4. Basic knowledge of electrical components such as relays and resistors.
5. Good attention to detail in order to ensure that all paperwork is correctly completed and procedures are followed within the allotted timescales.
