Job Description:
Highland Health and Social Care Services help people from all walks of life, as well as their families or carers. Health and Social Care in Highland provides help and assistance in many situations arising due to illness, disability, old age or poverty.
We are looking for a learning disability team leader to work in a team which delivers support and employability skills development activities to adults with learning disabilities, communication difficulties, personal care and complex needs.
Candidates should be able to work as part of a team or under their own initiative. They should be willing to take the lead in the ongoing oversight of employability/skills development projects already being delivered by the service, as well as continuing to identify and develop a wide range of potential new projects.
All projects designed require a focus on supporting the development of skills required to support employment, while holistically balancing the needs of the people we support, potential employers, and others.
Candidates require excellent communication skills and confidence in their ability. They must be willing and able to undertake training to SVQ Level 4, alongside all other training required for service delivery.
The Isobel Rhind Centre is open Monday – Friday, 8.45 am – 4.15 pm, although successful candidates may be required to be available for flexible shift patterns, which include minimal evening and weekend work outside of these core hours. Although the role is primarily based in the Isobel Rhind Centre, you may also be required to lone work in community-based settings or as part of a small team.
Successful applicants will be required to register with the PVG Scheme.
