The Emergency Care Directorate seeks an experienced and skilled Lead Manager to support the Directorate General Manager and senior leadership team within the Emergency Care Directorate
The post holder's primary role will be to manage the operational functions within the Emergency Care Directorate including oversight and accountability of the recruitment strategy, clinical rotas and the administrative functions including the management of the administrative and ancillary teams. The role will also support the Directorate's clinical job planning.
You will lead the Emergency Care Directorate's governance agenda including the management of the risk register, Health & Safety, responding to complaints and ensuring timely responses and completed action plans for any incidents relating to operational, Emergency Medicine and Acute Medical services.
You will have oversight of administrative budgets and will be the link for the co-ordination of the Emergency Care estate infrastructure.
Candidates will be well organised and able to manage and prioritise their workload successfully. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as the ability to cultivate and maintain good working relationships with service users, colleagues and senior managers.
Main duties of the job
The Lead Manager is a key member of the senior management team of the Emergency Care Directorate. S/he derives their authority and responsibility directly from the Directorate General Manager (DGM). This is a role within the Directorate that carries significant leadership and management responsibility within an organisation that is clinically and managerially led from the front.
The Lead Manager brings considerable expertise, experience and leadership to the relevant division specified Area acting on behalf of the Directorate General Manager for staff development, promoting quality, health and safety, and financial control of professional, administrative and ancillary functions provided within the specified Areas within the Directorate. S/he will be a strong leader demonstrating the ability to deliver against performance targets.
Reporting directly to the DGM, s/he has responsibility to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high quality clinical services within available resources, ensuring the delivery of the Annual Quality Framework (AQF). As a key member of the Directorate, s/he will contribute to the management of its safety and quality performance and the pan division development and delivery of designated clinical service portfolios. S/he will ensure that the Directorate's 5-year Strategic Plan and objectives, operational policies and strategic intentions are implemented or incorporated into the plans for the specified Area of responsibility.
