We are pleased to offer a full time, Band 2 Ward Clerk post to work on the Acute Medical Unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital.
You will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward / unit staff and be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward / department. You will also provide general assistance to the ward / unit staff.
• Provide general non-clinical advice, information and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives and carer
• Accurately file reports, notes and results efficiently
• Participate in any new directions, which ensure smooth running of the service
• Show initiative and carry out duties safely and competently and where necessary, train new staff
• Respond to telephone enquiries from hospital staff and patients efficiently and conscientiously
• Attend and participate in regular staff meetings
• Provide cover for sickness absence and annual leave within the department
• General clerical duties ,as required, within the department
• Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained and up to date
• Data input on the Patient Administration System (PAS), in line with the Trust Waiting List and outpatient’s procedures and policies.
