The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes, exceptional analytical skills, and a solid understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems. As an AP Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, reconciliations, and overall AP management.
This is a 12-month contract role available in either Sydney or Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement: 2 days in the office, remaining days working from home. This role is for an immediate start.
Your key accountabilities in this role will include:
* Ensure compliance with the Accounts Payable policies and procedures, proactively addressing any non-compliance issues within the Accounts Payable.
* Resolve issues related to the data interpretation suggested by the scanning solution (Exflow) and escalate any issues with the Senior AP Analyst and AP Manager.
* Oversee the accounts payable process, including processing invoices and payments.
* Ensure that all invoices are recorded accurately and paid on time.
* Assist in weekly supplier payment cycles.
* Assist in managing corporate credit cards by overseeing the monthly reconciliation of expenses.
* Monitor and reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
* Work with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure that all purchases are properly authorised and recorded.
* Work closely with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable process.
* Supervise and train accounts payable associates.
Who You Are
* Comprehensive experience in a related finance, accounting and/or Accounts Payable or similar role, and/or knowledge of computer-based accounting systems (D365 preferable).
* Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience and/or knowledge of company policies, practices and personnel to effectively carry out responsibilities.
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
* 3-5 years of hands-on experience in accounts payable roles, with a demonstrated understanding of AP processes and best practices.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel.
