Solihull Children’s Services have a fantastic opportunity to recruit a number of enthusiastic and motivated Business Support Officers to join our friendly Business Support Team located in our modern offices at the Bluebell Centre and Chelmunds Place, Chelmsley Wood.
We have opportunities for full-time and part-time positions within our Safeguarding and Corporate Parenting business support teams.
Working with a busy team of Business Support Officers, you will contribute to making a difference to the children, young people, and families of Solihull. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative and information support service that will allow our Social Work Teams to function effectively.
Your duties will include:
1. Arranging, coordinating, and attending a range of meetings.
2. Efficiently taking and distributing the minutes for complex multi-agency meetings.
3. Acting as a key contact for enquiries, building relationships with colleagues and other professionals to handle queries effectively and with sensitivity and discretion.
4. Maintaining information systems, both computerized and manual, ensuring records are accurately kept.
5. Collating and providing statistical information as and when required.
To be successful in this role, you will need either 4 GCSEs at Grade A-C (or equivalent) including Maths and English, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent numeracy and literacy skills, or an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
You will also have significant experience of office administration and taking minutes at meetings. You will use your initiative to prioritize your workload to meet deadlines in a highly demanding environment and will have experience of dealing with challenging situations. An excellent communicator, you will have the confidence and ability to deal with a variety of multi-disciplinary professionals on a range of matters and the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
You will enjoy working as part of an effective team but also work independently to a high standard whilst working remotely.

Working on a hybrid basis; this role will involve a predominantly office-based period of induction, followed by a combination of home and office working, to meet business needs.
