We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Head of Change Management to join our Strategic Portfolio Office (SPO) at Kingston University. This pivotal leadership role will develop and implement a university-wide change management framework to drive strategic improvements and support the delivery of our Town House Strategy. As a “change champion,” you will ensure that our change initiatives are embraced, embedded, and impactful, aligning with both the operational and cultural goals of the University.
As Head of Change Management, you will create and refine a comprehensive change management methodology, working with various departments to ensure consistency, transparency, and engagement at every stage. Your expertise will help shape and drive organizational change that not only meets strategic objectives but also fosters an inclusive, collaborative culture. You will lead a dedicated team of Change Managers and work closely with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to develop meaningful, university-wide change initiatives that positively impact staff and students.
The Person
To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. A degree or equivalent relevant experience in a related field.
2. Certification in Change Management (e.g., APMG Practitioner in Change Management).
3. Proven experience leading strategic change initiatives, preferably within higher education or similarly large organizations.
4. Strong skills in stakeholder management, with a talent for building trust and effectively influencing outcomes at various levels.
5. Excellent communication abilities to lead organization-wide campaigns and communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
6. A proactive and solution-oriented approach to managing change and driving process improvements.
7. Resilience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for driving impactful change that benefits both the University and its diverse community.
Directorate/Function
Working within a newly created Strategic Portfolio Office (SPO), the office also sits within a newly established Strategy, Performance and Communications Directorate. As well as the SPO, this Directorate includes staff working in Planning and Performance, and Brand, Communications and Public Affairs.

This is a full-time role, permanent position with a starting salary of £59,654.00 per annum.
