Join Our Team as a Mental Health Youth Worker
Location: Bradford base, West Yorkshire.
Salary: £23,000 per annum - 35 hours per week.
Contract Type: Full-time. Fixed Term Contract - 31st March 2026.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Mental Health Youth Worker to join our team. This role involves organising and overseeing one-to-one sessions and community programmes aimed at supporting young people in developing life skills, building confidence, and forming healthy relationships.
As a Mental Health Youth Worker, you will work directly with young people, helping them make informed decisions that are right for them. You will be responsible for delivering key programmes such as:
* Magic: Providing 1-1 support for children aged 5-11 across the Bradford Districts. This programme focuses on managing anxiety and creating goals to boost confidence, aiming to improve mental health and emotional well-being.
* MNHES: Offering 1-1 support or group work with a Counsellor or Youth Worker to assist young people in transitioning back to school after a period of mental or physical illness. This programme is crucial in helping them regain their roles in education and supporting their emotional recovery.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will design and evaluate programmes, ensuring they meet the needs of participants and achieve set outcomes. Your role will involve working both independently and as part of a welcoming and committed team, engaging with young people in group and one-to-one settings, supporting and empowering them to build their brighter futures.
Qualifications and Certifications
Essential:
* A relevant Level 4 qualification in youth work / counselling or working towards and/or equivalent experience as a children’s workforce practitioner (e.g. qualified teacher, social worker or healthcare practitioner).
* Current and clean driving licence and access to a vehicle. For vehicle insurance purposes, you should be at least 21 years of age and have held a full GB driving licence for at least one year.
* First Aid Qualification or willingness to work towards.
* Level 1 Safeguarding.
* Level 2/3 Safeguarding.
* PCV/D1 driving licence.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Experience providing low level mental health support to children and young people.
* Experience of working with children and young people with SEN.
* Practical understanding of contemporary issues affecting children, young people, and families.
* Hands-on experience delivering interventions that support children, young people, and families.
* Strong experience in programme design and evaluation against set outcomes.
* Ability to engage effectively with participants in both group and one-to-one settings.
