South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.
We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 411 beds. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.
Reporting to the Home Manager, this role involves working with an experienced clinical team carrying out planned, proactive and reactive clinical duties.
The team is committed to providing professional, respectful and quality care within a safe home environment.
This is a hands-on role and appropriate experience and relevant qualifications will be of paramount importance as is the commitment to provide a first-class service to all of our residents.
This role is a full-time days role at our flagship home The Poets.

Job responsibilities:
1. To maintain high standards of patient care ensuring the health and safety and welfare of all residents.
2. To champion patient choice and autonomy. To ensure that all staff work in a dignified and respectful way to all who live and work in the home.
3. Support and assist in managing the whole care team when on duty. Working in collaboration with colleagues to ensure excellent resident care and exemplary communication is delivered.
4. To foster relationships with families, advocates and NOK and ensure that they are kept informed of all changes to the residents’ physical and emotional well-being.
5. To ensure all documentation is completed in a comprehensive, concise and time-sensitive manner. This is to include the generation of individualized care plans, which must be reviewed and amended when residents' needs change.
6. To order medication, store, administer and manage according to legal, professional and company policy and procedures.
Skills, qualifications and knowledge:
1. Experience in nursing role
2. A Nursing degree or above
3. Registered with the NMC with a current active PIN
4. Able to prioritise between tasks to achieve the most satisfactory outcome
5. Good reporting skills both verbal and non-verbal
6. Have some experience in managing teams
7. Previous clinical experience in geriatric, frailty, end of life and dementia care.
