Join SSEN Transmission's Delivery Directorates as a Lead BIM Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Scotland's large-scale energy projects. With an expanding portfolio, we are seeking to drive digital information management and BIM strategy, ensuring the successful delivery of transformative infrastructure projects.
The Lead BIM Manager will develop and implement SSENT's digital information management strategy, ensuring compliance with BS EN ISO 19650. With line management responsibilities, you will oversee digital processes, manage information requirements, and collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders and industry groups to drive a data-led approach and improve industry practices.
The Lead BIM Manager's duties and responsibilities will be:
- BIM Implementation and Rollout: Lead the establishment and implementation of BIM Level 2 and 3 principles across the organization, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders, and overseeing the management of BIM platforms and Common Data Environments (CDE).
- Team Development: Guide, mentor, and develop the Building Information Management team, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and ensuring alignment on digital information strategies.
- Information Management: Oversee the creation and management of Information Requirement documentation (OIR, AIR, PIR, EIR) and models (AIM, PIM), ensuring compliance and effective communication across projects.
- Training and Compliance: Identify, organise, and oversee training for stakeholders on ACC and BS EN ISO 19650 standards, ensuring the team and organization maintain up-to-date accreditations and certifications.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders (e.g., contractors, manufacturers, engineers) to integrate new technologies and techniques into our strategies to ensure effective project delivery., At SSEN Transmission, we take immense pride in owning and operating the high-voltage electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland. Extensive experience in leading BIM development on major infrastructure projects, preferably using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). However, knowledge in other typical CDE's is also welcomed.
- Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and modelling preferably for energy infrastructure projects, such as: Converter Stations, Substations, Overhead Lines, Cables.
- Experience in leading teams and key stakeholders through digital transformation and change, including hosting workshops, developing processes and procedures.
- In depth understanding of ISO 19650 and UK BIM Framework guidance and industry standard best practices and processes for information management.
- Experience in management and development of staff.
