About the Role:
To ensure that all work undertaken complies with Engineering and safety legislation. The purpose of the role is to be a multiple skilled engineer with an electrical installation bias. To maintain the utilities and services of the building including installations and upgrades to the site. To carry out daily and weekly site checks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Champion quality, safety, health, environmental standards, and legal compliance.
2. Support and develop improvements to site to drive site reliability targets. Facilitation of problem-solving activities with both technical and non-technical personnel.
3. Contractor management and issuing of permits to contractors in line with site permit procedures.
4. Complete daily/weekly checks to site e.g., sprinkler check, emergency lighting checks, fire alarm and L8 (legionella).
5. Organising and managing work in relation to facilities and site infrastructure.
6. Developing plans and practices that reduce the site utilities consumption. Championing environmental performance to reduce site overheads.
7. Supporting and managing the site utilities and services equipment to optimise operation and maximise reliability of the equipment.
8. Working with the engineering planner to optimise the planned preventative maintenance program across the range of site equipment.
9. Working with the operations teams to identify improvements and provide support for site.
10. Delivering 5S improvement plans for the engineering department and driving overall standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
1. Practical Engineering / Technical experience with a proven track record of maintenance delivery.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
3. A strong electrical background with mechanical experience.
4. Ability to manage contractors, review risk assessments and method statements, and issue permits.
5. Understanding of the site utilities and services.
6. Experience in electrical installation work.
Qualifications:
1. Ideally City & Guilds, ONC in an engineering discipline (HNC preferable).
2. BOAS.
3. Confined space trained.
4. MEWP licence.
