We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Beetroot team in March. The Engineering Technician plays a key role in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex and longstanding engineering issues across the beetroot packing and production factory. With a strong emphasis on root cause analysis and permanent solutions, this role focuses on eliminating recurring faults, improving processes, and driving engineering excellence. While supporting immediate technical problems as needed, the primary objective is to elevate engineering standards, enhance reliability, and embed best-in-class maintenance and continuous improvement practices. Role Includes: Fault finding & root cause analysis Deep-dive investigations into technical faults with lasting, effective solutions. Advanced problem-solving to tackle complex production challenges. Full documentation of diagnostics and corrective actions. Upskilling initiatives to empower your teams with lasting problem-solving capabilities. Upskilling and support of existing team Mentoring and hands-on training for engineering operatives. Empower production teams with equipment knowledge and preventative maintenance skills. Tailored workshops on fault prevention, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Process improvement & engineering excellence Evaluate workflows to uncover new efficiencies and reliability gains. Lead the rollout of impactful engineering changes with minimal disruption. Collaborate across teams to align improvements with strategic goals. Operational engineering expertise A trusted technical partner for complex engineering challenges. Ownership of key engineering projects from diagnosis to delivery. Always up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices. We are looking for A strong background in mechanical or industrial engineering. Familiarity with the equipment and processes used in food packaging or similar industries is highly desirable. Proven track record in fault finding, root cause analysis, and implementing process improvements. Experience in mentoring and upskilling fellow engineers. • Strong knowledge of operational engineering practices and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues. • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement tools is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others. • Strong problem-solving abilities with a tenacious attitude towards overcoming challenges. A proactive, improvement-focused mindset with a passion for engineering excellence. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative approach to achieving goals. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
