We’re looking for a skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS to join our inpatient team at Priory Hospital Chelmsford.

Your Role as a CAMHS Consultant
As a full-time Consultant Psychiatrist in our CAMHS team, you will provide expert inpatient psychiatric care for young people and contribute to high-quality service delivery through clinical leadership and collaboration with our wider MDT.
Key responsibilities include:
Clinical:
5. Acting as Consultant and Responsible Clinician for CAMHS inpatients
6. Leading on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning process
7. Working collaboratively with patients, carers, and external agencies
8. Chairing MDT and CPA meetings
9. Preparing reports for Mental Health Act Tribunals and Managers Hearings
10. Contributing to clinical governance and continuous service improvement
Management:
11. Providing clinical leadership in partnership with the Ward Manager
12. Supporting regulatory compliance and quality standards on the ward
13. Attending monthly CAMHS governance meetings and contributing to service development
14. Academic:
15. Participating in monthly academic meetings
16. Delivering case presentations and teaching sessions
17. Engaging in audit, research, and quality improvement projects

25. MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
26. Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
27. CAMHS CCT/CESR and Approved Clinician (AC) status
28. Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
29. Experience working in CAMHS, preferably inpatient or eating disorder settings
30. Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
