Senior Back End Developer – Scale Up SaaS Tech – London (Hybrid/Remote)
£70,000 - £75,000 + Benefits | Permanent
A pioneering client in the technology space is looking for a Software Engineer to join their talented team in London. They are a mission led company and have built a cutting edge technology platform that collaborates with some of the biggest companies in the entertainment space.
Working at the intersection of creativity and technology, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of music tech by building secure, high-performance cloud-native systems that underpin the company’s flagship products, including a groundbreaking SaaS platform.
The Role:
As a Software Engineer you’ll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering team, working closely with the Technical Architect to build and maintain critical TypeScript-based services. Your work will directly impact music professionals worldwide, ensuring their work is recognised, tracked, and paid for with accuracy and transparency.
The company is ideally seeking someone with 5–8 years of hands-on development experience, but they're equally open to people who can demonstrate deep backend knowledge, a strong DevOps mindset, and a proactive approach to technical problem solving.
Core Skills & Experience Required:
* 5+ years' commercial experience in software engineering
* Strong TypeScript or Java/Node.js proficiency
* Proven experience working in serverless AWS environments (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, ECS)
* Experience designing and developing microservices with clean domain boundaries
* Good working knowledge of SQL and cloud databases (Aurora/Postgres, DynamoDB, Snowflake etc.)
* Familiarity with IaC tooling such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform
* Experience working in Agile/Kanban teams with strong TDD principles
* CI/CD skills with GitHub Actions (or similar)
* A collaborative approach to PR review and architecture discussions
Desirable (but not essential):
* Event-driven architecture (e.g., SNS, SQS, EventBridge)
* AI/LLM integration (Python experience welcome)
* Data pipelines and ETL workflow knowledge
* Experience scaling cloud services and optimising for performance and cost in serverless environments
Location & Flexibility:
This is a London-based role, and while the team values in-person collaboration in their creative central London workspace, there’s genuine flexibility for candidates who prefer a more hybrid or remote working arrangement. The current team typically meets in the office once a week, but the client is happy to accommodate different setups depending on what works best.
If you're passionate about building scalable, meaningful software that directly supports the creative industry — and you're looking for an ambitious and mission-led team to grow with — this could be the role for you.
