Key Responsibilities:
We have an opportunity in our Research Group for a 12-month placement (Year in industry). We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who would relish the chance to learn from Immunocore’s cutting-edge science and corporate growth.
The Research department has a key role in the ongoing success story for Immunocore, with a mission to ensure the sustained delivery of drug candidates based on strong science that have high potential for addressing the unmet medical needs of patients. Research Operations provides oversight of key initiatives within the Research department, offering analytical support, strategic planning, partnership development, and portfolio management expertise. These efforts aim to advance scientific practices, remove barriers to research, ensure the department meets its commitments, and generate insights that shape the science we do.
The placement will contribute to these initiatives aiming to make a positive contribution to the way in which Research operates.
You would work across a range of projects aimed at improving productivity of the Research organisation. These could range from short-term focused initiatives that will provide input into decision making, through to supporting larger, more complex improvement initiatives engaging with multiple scientific functions across the Research department as well as other business partnering groups in the broader organisation. Reflecting the dynamic nature of work in Research at Immunocore, projects will evolve; however, examples of recent projects that have formed the core of the placement include:
1. Exploring applicability of agile project management practices in a biotechnology research organisation
2. Design and implementation of a programme database to track productivity metrics
3. Automation of core processes including programme management, and performing supplier and competitor reviews
4. Providing functional scrum management support
Skillsets: You should be keen to build upon the following:
* Excel
* PowerPoint
* Visio
* Other MS Office applications
Depending on candidate opportunity to explore data analysis & visualisation tools.
Education & Qualifications: Currently studying towards a Biology, Chemistry, or other related degree. You should have experience of Microsoft Office tools and an interest in data analysis. This would suit someone with an interest in science and a non-lab based career (e.g. consultancy or project management).

Please note this is a full-time position based at our Abingdon, Oxfordshire office and contracted through a third party.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre on 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th March 2025, providing an opportunity to meet current placement students, learn about the role, and socialize with employees.
