Job Description Plant Hire Desk Controller Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE Location: Wollaston Hours: Part-time or Full-time We are currently recruiting for an experienced administrator to join a growing organisation within their Plant Hire team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills to take on a pivotal role within a growing business. Duties Handle all hire requests from initial inquiry to equipment return. Coordinate deliveries and collections with the transport team. Monitor fleet movements via tracking systems to maximise efficiency. Maintain accurate hire documentation and records. Manage breakdown reports and arrange emergency replacements promptly. Advise customers on equipment selection to meet their needs. Prepare competitive hire quotes and negotiate rates. Address and resolve customer queries and complaints in a professional manner. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met. Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure all equipment is inspected and compliant. Ensure all hired equipment meets required safety standards and regulations. Chase overdue accounts and ensure timely payments. Process hire extensions and off-hires accurately. Generate and analyse performance reports to support business operations. Required Skills & Experience: Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office skills. High attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
