Healthcare Scientist / Specialist Cardiac Physiologist Band 6
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Scientist Graduate / Specialist Cardiac Physiologist wishing to further develop their skills within our rapidly developing Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic department. The individual will have sufficient experience post qualification or be a newly graduated Scientist looking to expand their current knowledge and experience within Cardiac Science specifically Cardiac Devices. There will be opportunities to study towards the relevant professional examinations and to further develop leadership and management skills.
The department offers a broad range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests, including a wide range of ambulatory monitoring, physiologist led/medically supervised ETT, Echocardiography, Cardiac Device implantation and follow-up (pacemakers, resynchronisation and high voltage devices) as well as diagnostic Cardiac Catheterisation.
We are looking to appoint someone who will relish the challenge of being part of our team and possess the initiative and drive to complement the responsibility of this role.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Applicants must hold a BSc in Cardiac Clinical Physiology or equivalent or MSc in Cardiac Science and relevant experience in both invasive and non-invasive techniques.
2. To work as an unsupervised practitioner as part of the team of Clinical Physiologists (Cardiology) based within the CPU / Diagnostic Units.
3. This requires the post holder to carry out a broad range of Cardiac diagnostic tests and procedures, both invasive and non-invasive, with a large proportion being specialist in nature, focusing on developing skills in the specialist field of Cardiac Devices.
4. To provide a technically accurate report on a broad range of diagnostic cardiac tests.
5. To maintain clinical records and in-house databases, providing regular audits including quality control.
6. To provide training for PTP and STP trainees and other healthcare professionals in the field of Cardiology Physiologists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
