SERVICE TEAM LEADER
Avens Supported Living Northants (“ASLN”) is a Supported Living and Domiciliary Care Agency that supports adults with Learning Disabilities to live in their own homes. Spread across the heart of Northamptonshire, in Kettering, Corby, Raunds and Wellingborough, housing over fifty customers who are supported by over sixty staff.
ASLN currently has an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join its senior management team. Applications are invited from candidates who have a solid background in the care sector, working at Team Leader level or above with a minimum qualification of Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.

Job Title: Service Team Leader (“STL”)
Reporting Lines: Line Manager: Deputy Manager ASLN,
Registered Manager ASLN
Director of Operations, Avens Limited (“the Company”)
Normal Working Hours: 37.5 per week, spread equally 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday incl.
Location: Supported Living Properties and Office at Washington Court, Kettering
Scope and Purpose: The provision of support to ASLN’s customers is a regulated activity. The main purpose of the STL role is to ensure that the service is at all times compliant with the CQC and local authority guidance for providers. Managing staff development and operating procedures to ensure that best practice standards are continuously maintained.
Line Management Responsibilities: Line management responsibilities for the Heads of Support appointed to each property. Including adherence to training standards, attendance, appraisal, supervision, probationary reviews etc. Recording and escalation of staff events in line with operating procedures and the Staff Handbook. To work with the Training department to progress outstanding training and plan for staff development. To work with the Deputy, Registered Manager and Director for HR in respect of staff actions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To regularly visit the properties as a supportive measure for customers and staff or in response to a staff, customer or other event or situation. To be the link between the office and the properties.
To visit the properties to complete thorough Monthly House Inspections in line with operating procedures.
To visit each property weekly to observe operations, identify any issues, pick up and deliver messages, documents, packages, petty cash slips etc.
To learn how to use and add reports and documents to the Company’s in house management operating system known as Well Managed Home (“WMH”). To ensure that all reports and documents are saved to WMH in line with Company operating procedures.
To ensure satisfactory outcomes of recorded events such as: ABCs; complaints; confidentiality; customer injury; staff events etc, with appropriate timely escalation to line managers.
To complete regular “Competency Assessments for Medication Handling” reviews for all staff, at least annually but more frequently if additional training needs are identified.
To carry out duties as delegated from time to time by the Deputy and Registered Managers.
To perform periodic quality control checks on WMH reporting records managed and administered by the Heads of Support and their teams.
ASLN appoints a manager to be on call for each weekend. To take a share of on call duties once every three weeks.
The Property Maintenance team are responsible for building compliance. To work with that team and to bring to their attention any actions/maintenance identified to ensure that the properties are fit for purpose at all times.
To act professionally at all times and be able to make appropriate decisions where required.
Candidate Attributes: Essential:
Clean driving licence
Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (minimum)
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Demonstrable staff management experience
Team player
Self-starter
Able to represent ASLN and the Company professionally at all times
Preferable:
Experience of working in a supported living environment
Role requirement: January 2025
Package: Depending upon qualifications and experience, starting salary for a 37.5 hour week will be between:
£23,650 and £26,000 and will be subject to review from 1 April each year. Plus benefits.
