The Role of the Engineering Manager:
As the Engineering Manager, you will manage all the projects and be the engineering lead in the company, enjoying a high level of autonomy.
You will primarily deal with OEMs, as well as some end users and distributors in various industries including Mobile, Off Highway, Agricultural Vehicle, Construction Vehicle, O&G, Automotive, Bus, MOD/Defence, and General Engineering.
The company offers full hydraulic systems solutions including Pumps, Valves, Power Packs, Cylinders, and Control Systems.
You will work closely with the General Manager as the technical lead in this senior management role. Key duties will be office-based, with occasional trips to customers. You will receive enquiries from the sales team and need to problem-solve for complex hydraulic systems.
The role involves a lot of troubleshooting and you will have 2 reports: 1 internal Sales Manager and 1 internal sales person. Quote turnaround is 1 day or less, making this a reactive role where you will handle technical/solution-based quotes.
The Ideal Person for the Engineering Manager:
Ideally, you will have a degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or General Engineering, although time-served candidates with strong technical knowledge will be considered. You should have a strong technical understanding of Hydraulics and/or Hydraulic Systems, along with real-world hands-on engineering experience.
Experience with Hydraulic Pumps, Valves, Cylinders, Controls, and Systems would be a massive benefit. Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer, Systems Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, Hydraulic Systems Specialist, or Hydraulic Applications Engineer is advantageous.
You need to be a team player, able to work autonomously, relaxed yet hardworking.
