With the team growing, this Senior Civil Engineer role will provide you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across multiple sectors, as part of an enthusiastic and committed team of engineers and technicians.
Working across diverse projects, you will be responsible for delivering civil designs, ensuring technical excellence, and mentoring junior team members. You will have the opportunity to develop infrastructure capabilities within a dynamic and growing team.
You will also contribute to the wider development of the Civil & Structural department and support the implementation of best practices in design and project delivery.
You will be joining a team that works across a range of sectors, including Life Sciences, Defence, Industrial, Power, Transportation, Water and the Public Sector.
Responsibilities
* Lead civil design delivery across multiple projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality criteria are met.
* Develop and mentor junior engineers and technicians in technical design and BIM software integration.
* Undertake infrastructure design, including earthworks, drainage, pavement design, and 3D underground service coordination.
* Provide technical review of subcontractor and supplier drawings for compliance with design intent.
* Promote innovation and sustainability in civil engineering solutions.
* Represent BakerHicks in external meetings and site visits as required.
About You
* HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a recognised Civil Engineering degree.
* Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE.
* Proven experience in infrastructure design and coordination.
* Technical expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
* Strong understanding of drainage network design, flood risk assessment, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to mentor, train, and support junior engineers.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
