Description
We are currently looking for an Asphalt Manager, to oversee the operations at our Mansfield Asphalt Plant, in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
This role will be based on site, where you will oversee the operations at Mansfield, including recycling management. This role is suitable for those who have worked in similar operational environments and have experience of managing a high performing team, where colleague engagement, safety and efficiency is key.
Key Responsibilities
The core duties of this role include, but not limited to:
* Being the primary contact for Asphalt Operations across the area, including liaison with the customers, clients and other internal teams within the business
* Determine workload at all Asphalt plants within the area and determine prioritisation and delivery; organise resource allocation and shift patterns
* Liaise with Technical Team to ensure all mix cards at all plants are properly managed to maximise bitumen efficiency, OCL compliance and aggregate quality
* Assist with planning proactive asphalt plant maintenance shut downs
* Supervise and monitor operations to ensure a high standard of safety, quality and profitability maximise productivity by measuring output and inputs
* Strong people management skills, with experience in employee relations, performance management, recruiting, training and coaching.
* Compliance – Educate, inform and challenge where necessary
* Taking ownership of all compliance and safety training for the plant department and employees
* Overseeing personnel training for all plant employees, including training on the operation of equipment and machinery
* Ensuring Site Health and Safety standards are prioritised and maintained at all times
* Management of KPI/Budgets/Targets, Recycling Budgets
* You will ensure the asphalt unit complies to ISO 9001 & 14001
* You’ll oversee the continual improvement of the site practices take ownership of the site PPM scheme and the effective maintenance scheduling
* Ensure the implementation and promotion of the Company HSEQ Policy, procedures and safety commitments
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Clear and confident communication skills (verbal and written)
* Proven decisive leadership qualities, first rate communication skills (verbal and written) and a strong customer focus, coupled with a positive outlook and the ability to work independently.

* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Existing knowledge of recycling management would be beneficial but not essential, preferably with WAMITAB or working towards
* Full, clean UK driving license, as this role may require occasional travel to other sites
* Ideally QCF Level 4, or equivalent, or willing to work towards this
* A good level of IT/PC Literacy, especially in relation to software applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
