Job Description: Head of Sales
£50,000 - £60,000 + £7,800 car allowance + annual bonus
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Sales to lead a team of 11 office-based and field-based sales professionals across retail and commercial sales channels. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a pivotal role for an energetic and experienced sales leader. Key responsibilities include:
Leadership: Inspire, motivate, and coach a diverse sales team to maximise performance and achieve sales targets.
Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive growth across retail, commercial and export channels.
Key Account Management: Leverage industry relationships to secure new business and strengthen partnerships with key garden centre groups
Reporting & Analysis: Monitor sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
Sales Targets:Identify gaps and opportunities in retail, commercial and export channels and drive focused sales activity towards delivering sales growth.
Product Development Input: Provide insights and recommendations to the product development team to align offerings with market demands.
Travel & Presence: Be office-based for 1-2 days per week, with national travel as required.

Candidate profile: Head of Sales
We are looking for a dynamic and driven Sales Manager who will challenge existing practices and inspire to work better. The ideal candidate profile will be:
Proven experience in a Sales Manager, ideally but not necessarily with a garden trade supplier
Preferably with strong relationships with garden centre groupsor proven experience of opening and managing key retail accounts.
A natural motivator and coach, capable of developing individuals at all levels to achieve their potential.
Commercially astute with a track record of achieving targets.
Experience of or ability to manage international distributors
Strategic thinker with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to balance office-based collaboration with field-based team engagement and client meetings.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
