We are looking for a passionate Design Technology Teacher to join their team and inspire students in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering, or Food Technology (tailor as needed). This role begins September 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
* Teach a range of DT specialisms such as Product Design, Engineering, Resistant Materials, Textiles, or Food Technology (adapt as required).
* Encourage students to develop problem-solving, creativity, and technical skills.
* Use modern tools, equipment, and software to enhance learning experiences.
* Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Inspire students to pursue careers in design, engineering, and technology-related fields.
* Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as STEM clubs, design competitions, or industry partnerships.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching Design Technology at KS3/KS4/KS5.
* Strong knowledge of design principles, technical processes, and manufacturing methods.
* Passion for practical, hands-on learning and the ability to engage students.
* Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
* A commitment to high expectations and raising pupil attainment.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher.
* Experience using CAD/CAM software, laser cutters, 3D printers, or traditional workshop tools (desirable).
