Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Salary: £23,500 - £25,500 per year (Additional rates for sleep-in shifts)

Social Care & Education are seeking a support worker to work in one of the children home we support in Derbyshire, this would be a full time permanent role for the right person.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Children Support Worker to join our team in Ilkeston and Heanor. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young adults.
As a Children Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to meet the individual needs of the young people in your care. This includes helping them develop life skills, promoting emotional well-being, and supporting them in overcoming challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality care and support to children and young adults.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation to encourage healthy eating habits.
• Support and create engaging activities to promote development and positive experiences.
• Provide assistance with educational needs, including homework support and promoting learning opportunities.
• Help with daily routines, including personal care and recreational activities.
• Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
Requirements:
• Proven experience working with children and young adults with learning disabilities, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
• A full UK driving license and access to a car are essential for this role.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
• Desirable: Holding a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care is highly desirable.
