Responsible for the compliant repair and preventive maintenance of all the site machines and services.
We're currently recruiting for a Reliability Engineer at our Ely site. The primary focus of this role is to manage assets through their entire life-cycle supporting safety, performance, risk consequence management and total cost of ownership. Our Engineering function is key to the continued success and improvement of our site operations as we strive to consistently deliver a world-class service in a fast-paced environment to delight our customers and grow our business.
The Reliability Engineer role entails defining equipment criticality in relation to safety, productivity and quality impact supporting the prioritisation and selection of appropriate asset care strategies and tactics. You’ll develop and manage the programme of equipment inspections and repairs whilst effectively supporting the engineering team to achieve target requirements in safety, production output, quality and cost. Working closely with the Engineering Planner/Scheduler you will identify and rectify issues whilst improving and maintaining high standards within Environment, Health & Safety, Housekeeping, Performance, Waste, Communication and Continuous Improvement.
The position is a key role in supporting the Engineering Manager to deliver core key objectives and operational performance targets.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Responsible for working in compliance with HSER standards.
2. Management of the Asset ‘life-cycle’ care program including routine preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown engineering work and reporting the effectiveness of the team.
3. Identify, investigate and resolve any Reliability Engineering issues that arise.
4. Supervising/training and supporting the engineering team to develop an environment of trust to encourage engagement and individual development.
5. Manage risk to accepted levels supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives in the areas of environmental, health and safety, asset availability, quality and productivity.
6. Development and review of the maintenance program and systems by developing implementation of performance measures metrics for and tracking KPI’s whilst working closely with the Planner/Scheduler.
7. Develop equipment strategies and tactics based on OEM recommendations supported by RCM based methodology and performance feedback.
8. Constantly monitor the effectiveness of preventative/predictive maintenance tactics in relation to increasing asset availability and reducing downtime.
9. Presentation and prioritisation of loss based on performance data directing focused effort on the most critical opportunities.
10. Facilitate appropriate Root Cause Analysis studies to develop detailed improvement action plans.
11. Continually challenge and develop our process flows and methods of operating.
12. Play an active role within the company’s management team by attending meetings to ensure effective and constructive Engineering input into the development of the site to meet the business plan.
To be successful in this role you should have experience of working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the Packaging sector, proven knowledge of using continuous improvement tools and techniques with a good understanding and working knowledge of SAP systems.
Other essential attributes include solid knowledge of CI Manufacturing Practices, excellent problem solving ability including DMAIC, effective communication skills at all levels, strong budget control and commercial awareness. You should be competent in the use of SAP-PM and Microsoft office software, particularly Excel with proven leadership and people management experience with a pro-active approach to change management.
We prefer that candidates hold a recognised professional mechanical qualification to join our developing Engineering Team. Lean experience, although not essential, would be advantageous.
