The Eastbourne Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Curriculum Leader of English, who is already, or has the potential to be an outstanding practitioner.
The successful candidate will be required to lead the department through the planning and delivery of engaging lessons to a range of abilities and to ensure English becomes a leading subject.
The post holder of Curriculum Leader of English will either be an experienced leader or will have the drive and determination to develop the skills to succeed in this role.
We are inviting applications from suitably qualified teachers who:
• Can provide outstanding quality learning and teaching in the department, modelling excellence in the classroom, evaluating the quality of teaching and standards of students’ achievement, and setting targets for improvement.
• Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of English and the exam specifications to provide professional leadership and management for English to secure high quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievements for all students.
• Have the vision and enthusiasm required to impact on the continuous process of raising attainment in the department. Have a belief in the value and talents of all students.
• Have a passion for English.
• Can demonstrate creativity and flair in the classroom.
• Can enthuse and motivate students.
