Lead Electrical Technician

Forseven, a revolutionary company looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices, is seeking a Lead Electrical Technician to join our highly skilled and dynamic Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the build support, issue investigation & resolution, test coordination, software and hardware upgrades of prototype vehicles in the UK and overseas for the Vehicle Electrical Systems.
2. Fault analysis using diagnostic software toolsets, schematics, and specifications to identify and resolve LabCar and vehicle-based issues.
3. Submission and updating of fault reports via a cloud-based issues management system and raising of BCRs for build-related electrical issues.
4. Preparation of prototype wiring harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies throughout the vehicle development programme.
5. Build support and maintenance for vehicles, LabCar, and other rigs (e.g., infotainment, etc.).
6. Support for other development/validation activities including in-market testing, rig testing, HiL testing, EMC testing, telematics, and system calibration of test plans and reports.
7. Assist in establishing and building a team to support multiple projects.
8. Training and support for colleagues in the Workshop and Vehicle Development Teams.
9. Provision of information and training to manufacturing and after-sales departments and support for vehicle build.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Significant track record of working as an electrical technician within an automotive workshop or automotive OE/Tier 1 environment.
2. Good understanding of vehicle electrical networks and systems (CAN, LIN, and discrete signaling). Training will be provided where necessary.
3. Practical experience of using laptop-based vehicle diagnostic toolchains and lab equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
4. Practical experience of working with vehicle harness diagrams and system schematics.
5. Experience in aspects of vehicle repair outside of electrical systems would be advantageous.
6. Must be able to work on their own initiative and prioritize their workload in conjunction with key stakeholders. Willingness to establish themselves as the go-to person for electrical issues.
7. Flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with good communication skills. Must be able to work under pressure.
8. Industry-recognized technician qualifications (BTEC ONC/HNC or an apprenticeship combined with relevant experience).
9. Full driving license is essential.
