This would be a great opportunity for a Junior or Graduate Robotics Engineer who is looking for their first role, or for an experienced Robotics Engineer who has some work based experience and would like to work for a leading agricultural business.
This is working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (with an early afternoon finish on a Friday), and the role comes with an annual salary between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE).
The hiring manager is looking for someone who has experience with ROS2, ROS or Navigation Stack (NAV2), as well as someone who is proficient in programming languages such as C++ or Python.
We are looking for someone who holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software / Robotics Engineering or a related field.
The hiring manager is looking for someone who will be predominantly based in the office 5 days per week, some hybrid working may be available at some point in the future but this would be discretionary.
What You Will Do:
* Integrate autonomous navigation solutions using the ROS2 Navigation Stack, focusing on perception, decision-making, path planning, and motion control.
* Develop and implement 3D mapping algorithms, creating accurate and real-time maps of outdoor environments.
* Enhance robot interaction and task execution through the creation of semantic maps, utilizing knowledge graphs and semantic hierarchies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust systems for perception, planning, control, and decision-making, ensuring seamless integration.
* Lead projects from concept to deployment, guaranteeing timely and successful delivery.
* Integrate various sensors for enhanced perception and mapping tasks, driving forward the capabilities of autonomous agricultural robots.
What You Will Bring:
* Proficiency in the ROS2 Navigation Stack (Nav2) and related libraries and tools.
* Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software/Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Relevant experience with ROS2, including package development, node management, and system integration.
* Experience in developing autonomous robots using ROS2 and Nav2, and familiarity with agile development processes.
