Job description Working as a Content Designer at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, you will write, develop and optimise fantastic content for a range of digital channels, ensuring its clear, engaging, creative, thoughtful and accessible. You will need to be able to take complex language and content and make them simple to understand, make the case for user-focused design and be able to explain your decisions clearly. You will make sure user journeys are the best they can be and produce content based on insight and outputs of user testing, making sure it is relevant to the audience, easily understood and optimised for search engines. You will manage relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to produce content that is accurate, timely, high quality and to house style. You will make sure that the appropriate policy, legal and quality assurance checks take place and that content is published quickly and efficiently. You will be responsible for choosing the best format for displaying information to the user. We want you to be proactive in identifying gaps in content, suggesting content improvements and suggesting alternatives to flat content, where appropriate. You will be working with external suppliers and creative agencies, and should have experience of managing budgets and finance administration, including procurement processes and purchase orders. You will: write best-in-class copy and fastidiously edit, proofread and optimise content across a range of channels including long-form publications, web pages, social media and newsletters work with the Senior Content Designers to plan how pieces will appear on different channels, including interface features, page structure, images/video and wireframes craft elegant and usable copy of all kinds - from long-form to link text - with an eye for design and placement make complex issues easy to understand and work with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, validity and consistency of content support the commissioning of creative and fully-accessible multimedia content, including interactive publications, video and graphics support the Senior Content Designers to manage external suppliers to ensure projects are completed to a high standard, on time and on budget demonstrate applying accessibility best-practice and stand ready with solutions for accessible content, so we can always lead by example support the Senior Content Designers to manage the delivery of major publications, including annual reports, and legal guidance work with colleagues to capture their thoughts, needs, insight and evaluation data, so you can propose and create impactful content proactively monitor and evaluate the performance of our digital content and channels elevate product quality: you know and define what good looks like and your job is to help us deliver it Person specification The full list of Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the role can be found in the Candidate Pack, available to download below.
