Qualter Hall and Co Limited are looking for a Technical Support Apprentice to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship to join their team.
During your apprenticeship, you will undertake a three-year training programme. This will start with full-time training at the AMRC Training Centre. Once your training is completed at AMRC, you will then continue your apprenticeship at our facility where you will spend time experiencing working within the manufacturing of our business before continuing to work within your selected field for the remainder of your apprenticeship. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to develop a range of mechanical competencies and design skills that will lead you to become part of our production team. Experience of all departments of the company will be gathered during the apprenticeship, ultimately resulting in the apprentice working in a design capacity within the technical department.
Role & Responsibilities:
* We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to develop a range of Engineering Design Skills in order to become part of our Technical Design Team.
* To work to accurately design and detail a range of standard and bespoke products to appropriate quality standards in line with customer requirements and or company standards in the most effective manner.
* Aim of developing the technical skills necessary to carry out design and detailing work via design software whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.
* Learn all aspects of the engineering process and be able to read engineering drawings.
* Work on own initiative.
* Ability to use 2D & 3D design software.
* Use measuring equipment.
* Gain knowledge of and use general engineering and manufacturing methods and techniques.
* Understanding and interpreting relevant engineering, manufacturing data and documentation.

Things to Consider:
During the first year, you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full-time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training, you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

You will need both of the following:
* GCSE English language C or 4 or above.
* GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
