Reports to: Club Manager
Responsible for: Assigned Key Worker Group
Type: Term-time after school and/or holiday clubs
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Playworker to join our vibrant out-of-school club team. You will support the day-to-day running of the club and help deliver high-quality play opportunities for children aged 3–11 in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of stimulating and age-appropriate play activities.
* Ensure the wellbeing of children, collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
* Set up and tidy play areas, including handling equipment and furniture.
* Provide refreshments and maintain hygiene, health and safety standards at all times.
* Administer basic first aid when required and respond to emergencies appropriately.
* Promote and support children’s independence, creativity and emotional wellbeing.
* Engage with children to plan activities, encouraging their ideas and participation.
* Maintain positive, open communication with parents, carers, staff and school contacts.
* Support club administration and adhere to policies and procedures.
* Undertake relevant training and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive environment for all.

Requirements
* Must pass enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Willingness to undertake paediatric first aid and safeguarding training (if not already held)
* A relevant playwork or childcare qualification is desirable or a willingness to work towards one
* Understanding of inclusive practice and equal opportunities
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience in a play-based setting
* Working knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures
* Confidence using IT for basic admin tasks
* Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate, Food Hygiene Certificate
Working Environment
* The role is based at one of out-of-school clubs, however, you might also be scheduled to work certain days of the holiday club should the numbers require it.
* Indoor and outdoor activity delivery – suitable outdoor attire may be required.
* You will be required to wear a uniform.
