Design Coordinator Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join our team at Algeco UK, a leading provider of innovative modular construction solutions.
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus 25 days' holiday + bank holidays + life insurance, providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your personal and professional growth.
About the Role
This exciting opportunity is designed for a talented individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional design services in a fast-paced environment. As a Design Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Project Team to eliminate health and safety risks, improve safety, quality, time, and cost throughout the project lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting the Project Team to eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks and exploit opportunities to improve safety, quality, time, and cost.
* Supporting the Head of Design and Project Design Manager in formal appointment of design consultants, ensuring design responsibilities are fully aligned with project objectives.
* Coordinating pre-construction activities and tender opportunities to control and interrogate the activities of external design consultants.
* Preparing technical responses for inclusion in PQQ and tender submissions with the Project Design Manager.
* Assisting in the coordination of the design process through various RIBA design stages.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* Demonstrable experience in design management of construction projects exceeding £3 million.
* Excellent technical working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit is essential.
* A background in structural/civil or architectural consultancy is highly desirable.
* Experience of design and build contracts with specific knowledge of education, healthcare, residential, and commercial buildings.
* Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Expert knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, and Health Technical Memorandums.
* Working knowledge of BREEAM and design interrogation software such as Navisworks.
