We are seeking to recruit an outstanding teacher to meet the needs of young adults with physical disabilities and learning difficulties or disabilities.
You will work closely with the teaching team to support our learners in all aspects of their learning, social development, personal needs and developing their skills for independence and employability. In this role you will be able to make a big difference to our young people, all of whom have a wide range of severe and/or complex needs, physical disabilities along with communication and learning difficulties.
You need to be able to engage and enthuse our young people and help prepare them for adulthood. You don't need experience of working in a special needs or education environment, although it would be advantageous, as would experience of college or work-based learning. You need to be willing to provide high quality life skills education that can be transferred into the community to enable our learners to play an active role in their local area. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills are essential, along with a 'can do' approach, flexibility, resilience and strong communication and team working skills.
We will also accept applications from unqualified teachers and support you to gain your QTLS should you demonstrate your commitment to the College.
Benefits of working at The Oaks Specialist College include private Healthcare, free health screening and employee rewards through Perkbox. If you are interested in the role, please visit our website www.theoaks.ac.uk for more information about the College.
Please note we are unable to accept CVs or applications through agencies.
The Oaks Specialist College is committed to safeguarding young people, a commitment we expect all staff to share and uphold.
