We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Healthcare Assistant to join our established team of nursing staff based at Pinewood ward, Little Brook Hospital, Dartford. The role involves providing care and support to in-patients currently experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring an inpatient admission.
Commitment to meeting the needs of people with mental health problems and valuing their rights is a prerequisite. You will be required to adopt a flexible working pattern and be committed to self-development and training.
What is High Cost Area Allowance?
The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting, is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas. As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month:
* 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,258 per year and a maximum payment of £2,121 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly).
Main Duties of the Job
* Promoting patient's self-care and supporting with activities of daily living with reference to the care plan.
* Maintaining a clean and healthy caring environment and assisting patients in all aspects of daily living skills as required.
* Escorting patients as required as part of their care and treatment plan.
* Driving unit vehicles as per needs of the service and as individual capabilities allow.
* Serving food/assisting with cooking and promoting self-catering as required to meet individual care plan needs.
* Working a full range of shifts as per the requirements of the service. May also be required, at times, to work at other Trust units and/or sites.
* Physically fit and able to carry out all duties following successful completion of physical interventions training (PMVA) as required.
