We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Walsall to assist with the appointment of a Licensing Officer, on a 2-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.02 - £16.39 per hour
Summary:
The Licensing Officer will work under the guidance of the Team Leader in Trading Standards & Licensing and the supervision of the Senior Licensing Officer. The role involves ensuring the efficient operation of the licensing service, providing expert advice, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert advice on licensing matters to the public, businesses, legal representatives, and council officers.
Handle inquiries via telephone, in person, and in writing, ensuring customers are properly guided.
Identify licenses due for renewal and issue accurate reminders and invoices.
Process license applications, maintain meticulous data records, and update the public register.
Validate documents to ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
Qualification:
Level 2 National Certificate for Licensing Practitioners
Required Experience & Skills:
Proven experience in handling licensing applications
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy in processing applications.
Ability to work efficiently within a team and autonomously.
