Our Client is a global leader in innovative energy and aerospace turbomachinery, specializing in the development of next generation gas turbines, and is looking for Quality Manager. The role is based in Derby for a permanent position.
Role
As a Quality Manager, the role will involve the day-to-day running of the Quality Management System, which is jointly shared with our office in Florida and Germany. The Quality Assurance side of the role reaches across the business from engineering to manufacturing.
The QA role will range from internal audit review of engineering processes and deliverables to receipt and inspection of incoming hardware to ensure parts and their associated paperwork are correct. The individual will also raise non-conformance reports as necessary.
Responsibilities
In this role, as a Quality Manager, you will develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS), conducting regular audits of internal processes, procedures, and documentation to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing Corrective Preventive Action Reports (CPARs) to address non-conformities and improve quality processes, preparing for external audits, and interfacing with auditors.
Additionally, you will liaise with the German office on quality matters to jointly improve the QMS, receive hardware, create Product Data-packs to ensure associated paperwork is complete and accurate, and raise non-conformance reports for hardware, taking ownership of the sign-off from relevant stakeholders.
You will also ensure assembly equipment is calibrated and fit for use, manage the approved supplier list by ensuring NDAs and ISO certifications are up to date, and manage the COSHH database to ensure all chemicals are fit for use.
Qualifications & Experience
* Quality Manager will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering or quality management in the Aerospace industry.
* 5+ years of experience in quality engineering with a background in process improvement methodologies and auditing techniques.
* Understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) and regulatory requirements, along with experience conducting internal and external audits and managing audit programs.
* Ability to understand the associated paperwork with delivered hardware (material CoC, inspection reports, NDT reports, etc.).
