What we’re looking for…
As Engineering Team Leader (Asset Care), you will champion the optimisation of our high-speed production lines, driving operational excellence by leading a versatile team of highly skilled Engineering Technicians. You will drive strategic asset care, planned and corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on improving equipment reliability. You will align and improve engineering operations to support the successful improvement of site OEE and equipment performance. Working closely with the site Reliability engineer you will focus on optimising preventative schedules and where necessary employing condition based monitoring methodology to critical site assets.

As Engineering Team Leader (Asset Care) your responsibilities will include;
Engineering Team Leadership & Development
* Empower and Develop Engineering Talent through strategic leadership, mentorship, and coaching to a team of Engineering Technicians, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with AG Barr's performance management framework.
* Design, implement, and lead a comprehensive Engineering Apprenticeship Program, ensuring robust technical training, mentorship, and successful program completion.
Asset Reliability & Optimisation
* Develop and execute a data-driven, preventative maintenance schedule, maximising equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
* Plan and manage weekly maintenance activities (planned and corrective), emphasising continuous improvement and resource optimisation.
* Serve as the primary technical authority for equipment issues, contributing to machine specifications and leading effective problem-solving initiatives.
* Maintain rigorous standards through regular audits and detailed reporting, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed to the highest quality.
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to plan, develop and coordinate modular/overhaul plans.
* Contribute to capital project execution, ensuring seamless integration and optimal outcomes.
Data-Driven Performance & Improvement
* Analyse AG Barr data to facilitate data-driven zonal improvement meetings, developing and implementing targeted action plans.
* Analyse line efficiency data (LDS, wastage, downtime) to identify root causes and develop strategic work plans, leading focused improvement programs to drive performance enhancements.
Continuous Improvement
* Lead the implementation of engineering elements within the site's Continuous Improvement program “Brilliance in the Making”, including Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and User Driven Maintenance, driving a culture of continuous enhancement.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
* Generate and analyse daily/weekly KPI reports, identifying trends, highlighting areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions to achieve performance targets.
What you’ll bring...
The successful candidate will have;
Academic & Technical Qualifications
* Minimum HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
* Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG preferred).
* In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems and processes.
* Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
* Strong IT skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent problem-solving and proactive attitude.
* Ability to work independently.
Knowledge & Experience
* Proven track record of operating at engineering management level within a food manufacturing environment or FMCG
* Familiarity with reliability standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 55000) and methodologies such as FMEA, RCM, and FTA.
* Project Management skills
* Experience and understanding of Google and computerised maintenance systems
* IOSH certificate
* Experience of a multi-skilled engineering environment
* Experience of contributing to a multi-functional operational management team
* Ability to complete report writing etc.
